Most tested products feature, or will feature, a coating essential to the products functional and/or aesthetic characteristics. Such a coating must conform to specific thickness requirements.

We use QuaNix 1500 and QuaNix 8500 coating gauges to measure the thickness of the following: 

• all non-magnetic protective coatings, i.e. varnishes, plastics, chrome, copper, zinc etc. on iron and magnetic steel bases (Fe probe);
• all protective coatings, i.e. varnishes, plastics, enamels etc. on non-magnetic metal bases (such as copper, aluminum, brass or steel).
